Hart and Co art workshop series

We are very excited to announce that we will be hosting a series of six art workshops at Haart and Co

in Leamington Spa over the next six months. We have six different art workshops on offer. They will all have a nature based theme that will explore art process as well as considering the importance using materials as sustainably as possible and no experience is needed. Each workshop is 2.5 hours and the cost for each workshop is £25 per session if booked separately or £20 per session if booked as a block of six, total of £120.

Lino Printing

During this workshop we will explore the fun and creative process of Linocutting. Linocut is a fun printing method using a sheet of linoleum, in which a cutting method is used to take away the parts of linoleum where you want to leave the white of the page, and keep the parts you want to be inked! You can reproduce the same image over and over again. You dont need any experience and will get to take home your wonderful masterpieces for friends and family to admire!

Collagraphy

Collagraphy is a really fun and versatile printing process in which a textured plate is inked up and put through a press. Different textures can be anything with a low relief texture can be stuck down and used: wallpaper, leaves, fabrics, tapes and threads.
During this workshop you will get to create your own bespoke artwork. from creation to printing, you will explore the whole process.

Cyanotype

Cyanotype (Sun printing) photography is a camera-less technique that involves laying an object on paper coated with a chemical solution before exposing it to UV light and washing with water to create stunning white and Prussian blue images. During this workshop you will get the opportunity to explore this process from creation of your own nature based compositions, to washing and drying your own amazing cyanotype prints. No prior photography experience is needed.

Dry Point Etching

Drypoint is an intaglio printmaking method that involves scratching an image into a plate with a pointed tool. These lines create a burr that holds ink, meaning that the print reveals the drawing.
During this workshop we will be working with recycled materials such as plastic bottles and metal cans as our etching plates. You will learn the process of etching into your plate and printing from them to create bespoke works of art.
No prior printing experience is needed.

Mono Printing

Monoprinting, like the name would suggest is
a process were the image created is only made once. This allows for more unique creations, but with more flexibility, as you can use a combination of monoprinting techniques including printing, drawing, and painting. Other forms of printing can be used to create multiple original prints, but monoprinting can only be made a single time. During this workshop we will explore the mono printing process and look at different mono printing methods.

Mixed Media

During this workshop we will be looking at the exciting process of mixed media. Mixed media art is when you use a mixture of different materials to create your art work.
We will be using a mixture of repurposed materials and look at combining these materials with different process to create unique pieces of art work. no experience is needed and you will get to take home your amazing creations for all to admire!
